Data freshness policy
Updated 30 October 2026
Noren collects and reviews information from official provider sources to help people compare Australian financial products. This policy explains when information is considered current, when verification expires and how we handle collection problems.
Collection and review dates
Last collected means when Noren successfully retrieved the relevant provider data. Last reviewed means when the pricing or product information was explicitly reviewed and approved.
A successful collection does not automatically constitute a new review. Collecting unchanged information does not advance its review date. Dates and deadlines are presented in Australian Eastern time unless otherwise specified.
Savings rates
We aim to collect savings product data at least daily. Collection can be delayed by provider outages, unavailable feeds or processing errors.
- Less than 24 hours: Current, provided all other verification checks pass.
- 24 hours to less than 48 hours: Refresh due. Verified pricing may remain visible and eligible for rankings.
- 48 hours or more: Stale. Numeric rates are withheld from current comparisons and rankings.
These thresholds are maximum observation ages. Pricing can be withheld earlier if its evidence review expires, the product changes or another verification requirement fails.
Verification
A pricing checkmark means the account has passed Noren’s applicable source, collection, review and freshness checks. It does not establish that every product condition has been verified, that the account is available to every visitor or that a displayed rate is guaranteed.
Requirements, eligibility, fees, balance limits and introductory terms are reviewed separately. Unknown information remains clearly identified.
Pricing evidence approvals have an explicit expiry. Under Noren’s current review process, a new approval can extend no more than seven days from the time of approval.
Collection failures and changes
A collection failure does not by itself establish that a bank changed or withdrew a product. Where the existing observation remains valid and the account retains verified pricing, Noren may continue displaying it within the freshness window. A refresh warning alone does not exclude an otherwise verified account from rankings.
If verification is lost, Noren removes the checkmark. If approved pricing no longer matches the collected information, or evidence is stale or expired, numeric rates are withheld until the relevant checks and review are completed. A missing product is investigated before it is described as withdrawn or closed.
Rankings and comparisons
Rankings use verified pricing available for the stated comparison balance. Each ranking should explain whether it compares ongoing or introductory rates, which account types and eligibility restrictions are included, whether bonus conditions are assumed to be met and the balance used to calculate the displayed rate.
Accounts with withheld or unsupported pricing are excluded from numerical rankings. A refresh-due account may remain eligible while its pricing remains verified.
Offers and promotions
Offers are reviewed separately from savings pricing. Introductory savings rates belong in the savings comparison rather than the offers table.
Proposed operating targets: We intend to check official evidence before publication, review published offers at least every seven days, and review short-lived offers before their next material deadline. The seven-day offer review target is not currently an automatic publication-expiry rule.
Offers are excluded from current listings when their recorded application deadline passes. Offers with unsubstantiated availability or material terms should be withdrawn or withheld. An internal review reminder is an editorial task, not an extension of the provider’s offer.
Institution information
Institution background, ownership and issuer relationships have their own review dates. Those dates do not verify savings rates or promotional offers. Material reported changes should trigger an earlier review rather than waiting for the scheduled review date.
PDFs and downloaded data
Exports show information available when they were generated. Their creation date is not a separate verification date. The ready-made savings PDF is intended to refresh daily. Previously downloaded copies do not update automatically. Check the live comparison and official provider terms before acting.
Corrections
Contact Noren or use the page feedback links to report suspected errors. We aim to assess reports within two working days, prioritising errors that could materially affect a comparison. This is a response target rather than a guaranteed resolution time.
Confirmed errors are corrected, and affected pricing is withheld where necessary while the issue is resolved.
Noren’s information supports research. Providers may change rates, conditions and availability between checks. Confirm the current terms directly before applying.
